What is “Gachiakuta”?

“Gachiakuta” is a thrilling battle-action series centered on Rudo, an orphan born in a slum inhabited by the descendants of criminals. The original manga, by Kei Urana with graffiti design by Hideyoshi Andou, began serialization in Kodansha’s “Weekly Shonen Magazine” in February 2022 and won the 50th Kodansha Manga Award in the Shonen category in 2026. The TV anime, produced by animation studio Bones Film, began airing and streaming for two consecutive cours in July 2025. It has garnered significant attention both in Japan and internationally, winning three awards at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026: Best New Series, Best Character Design, and Best Background Art. The excitement continues with plans for a stage play, a game adaptation, and a highly anticipated second season of the anime!
